Maynard on Sept 5th 1841 to a friend. Mrs. Maynard was at Ft. Columbus at the time of the letter. It's a very nice letter with news of Small Pox, dresses, tragedy of a fellow falling in the water (died with $100. in his pocket) and about a whipping of a soldier(?) and others were made to what the flogging.
